The Council on Litigation Management maintains for the benefit of each Member Attorney and Firm a staffed referral source accessible by all Fellows and their companies, as well as by the Members themselves. Each Member Attorney and Firm may designate specialty areas of litigation or other legal work they would like included in the directory of the Council to Counsel Referral NetworkTM Designated attorney contact information for the firm may be linked to each specialty. Thus, each Member Firm may have specified firm attorneys that may be contacted for the particular needs of those accessing the Council to Counsel system.
Since referrals are a great source of business for many law firms nationwide, referral networks and services are frequently joined by aggressive firms. Many such networks are costly and require single source contacts at firms subscribing to their service. Council to Counsel is an included service of the Council’s overall format. When Member Attorneys and Firms join, their selected specialty areas are included in rosters under practice areas by state. Since no confidential information is posted, even visitors to the web site can find firms that may fit their needs. However, where additional information is needed or in situations that are time sensitive, the Council to Counsel staff will take the requests or inquiries of Fellows, companies, and/or Member Attorneys and Firms, and create and provide refined sources and materials that are crafted exclusively to fit such inquiries, thereby saving the time and effort of Council affiliates. These may include representative cases, references, or other detailed research required by inquiring affiliates.
